What is a Listing Info Packet?

The core concepts behind your Listing Info Packets

Overview

In practical terms, a listing packet is simply a PDF that you upload to a corresponding listing in your Cortado AI Knowledgebase. This document could contain a single sentence ("There are extra towels in the hallway closet"), it could be a copy of an existing guest guide or welcome message, or it could be an entirely new document that you create for your AI.

Remember: your AI Agents can already pull listing descriptions, amenities, pricing, availability and basic policies from your PMS. A good Listing Info Packet builds on that information, providing key details your AI will need to answer guest questions.

The key concept is that your Listing Info Packets should contain essential information that is not already stored in your PMS.

❄️ The Thermostat Example (PMS vs Info Packet)

Let's say you have a listing with air conditioning and heating. Your PMS does a great job of showing Air Conditioning and Heating on your listing's amenities list, and your AI can pick that up no problem:

  • Guest: "Does this place have heating?"

  • AI: "Yes! Our listing has both air-conditioning and heating to ensure complete comfort during your stay."

What the PMS can't tell the AI, however, is how the guest should adjust the temperature during their stay.

  • Guest: "It's cold in here, how do I turn the heat up?"

  • AI: [ROUTES TO HOST]

This is where the Listing Info Packet comes in; you can easily add a sentence explaining: "There is a Nest thermostat located in the main hallway. To adjust the temperature, tap the dial to bring up the menu, turn the dial to select an option and push the dial inwards to confirm your selection."

Now your AI is fully equipped to answer your guest's question:

  • Guest: "It's cold in here, how do I turn the heat up?"

  • AI: "Hey there, I'm sorry to hear that! You can adjust the temperature to your liking using the Nest thermostat in the main hallway. Just tap the dial, turn it to your desired setting and tap again to confirm."
