# Slack Notifications

## Steps

Scroll to the bottom for a video overview.

If you have not already, choose a Slack channel where you would like to receive your Cortado AI notifications. This can be an existing Slack channel or a new one.

### 1. Create a new Slack app

1. Open your web browser and go to <https://api.slack.com/>
2. Make sure you are signed into your Slack account.
3. Go to **Your Apps** at the top-right of your screen.
4. Click **Create New App.**
5. Choose **From Scratch.**
6. Name your app something you’ll remember (such as “Cortado AI Notifications”).
7. Select the Workspace you’d like this app to be active in.
8. Click **Create App** and you should be redirected to the new app’s settings page.

### 2. Adjust & save your app credentials

1. You should now be on the app’s settings page.
2. Select the category **Incoming Webhooks** from the left sidebar menu.
3. Ensure the green toggle next to **Activate Incoming Webhooks** is set to "on."
4. Scroll to the bottom and select **Add New Webhook to Workspace**.
5. Select your preferred notifications channel and click **Allow**.
6. The new webhook should now appear in your app's **Incoming Webhooks** page.
7. Copy the **Webhook URL** and add it to your Cortado AI **Notifications** page alongside your Slack **Channel Name**.
