# Generate Notes

Trigger a one-time generation of notes based on prior conversations. Best done during your initial onboarding!

Writing Notes for all of your Listings can seem like an overwhelming, so why not have your AI handle it for you! Click the **Generate Notes** button to automatically generate Notes based on your most recent conversations.

### How does my AI generate Notes?

When you click **Generate Notes** your AI Agent will read through the most recent 10-20 conversations for each listing in your portfolio and extract durable, listing-specific information from your messages with each guest. That information is then composed into individual Notes and assigned to each individual Listing.

### Why did my AI fail to generate Notes for my Listing?

If your AI is unable to find recent conversations for a given listing, or if the available conversations do not contain enough information to produce Notes, it will mark them as **Failed** in your **Generate Notes** pane.

You are able to retry Note Generation for these listings at any time, and we recommend doing so after some conversations have been added to your Cortado account.
